The Blackhawks philosophy is to live up to its tagline, Leave No Man Behind. The Blackhawks have both a recreational and a tournament (travel) aspect to its program, it is unique among Triad lacrosse clubs in focusing primarily on providing an enjoyable and rewarding recreational experience. Lacrosse is one of the few sports in the Triad in which players can first play in 9th or 10th grade and still have an impact on their high school teams, and we want to provide access to players in this category. While we have had many players who have played or are playing at the college level, we also recognize that many players play for the opportunity to be part of a team and for the love of the game rather for the opportunity to play at the "next level."
Using positive coaching techniques and coaches who truly enjoy working with younger, less-experienced players, the Blackhawks endeavor to make its decisions in the best interests of the players. In this vein, we believe:

Using positive coaching techniques and coaches who truly enjoy working with younger, less-experienced players, the Blackhawks endeavor to make its decisions in the best interests of the players. In this vein, we believe:
- We can have the most positive impact on student-athletes by teaching and emulating good character.
- We would rather do things right and lose than do things wrong and win. Winning never excuses bad behavior by coaches or players. On an individual player basis, no amount of lacrosse talent will compensate for a poor attitude or poor behavior.
- Our coaches will be teachers first and competitors second.
- Multi-sports participation is overwhelmingly a better choice than focusing on only one sport.
- The key to top performance always starts with commitment and a strong work ethic.
- College scholarships are best earned by spending more time in the classroom than on the athletic field.
